QuestionMy dog was chasing something in the mulch and now has a bite mark on his bottom lip. I am thinking possibly a mouse bite. My question is, what should I do? I have already cleaned the wound. Should I take him to the vet?
AnswerHello - if there is very little swelling and very little blood you can do the following:
1 benadryl tablet - give a child's size dosage if he is under 20 lbs...Over 20 lbs, he can have (1) 25 mg tablet every 8 hrs for a few doses...
Use your judgement on the vet.. It can't hurt to make a visit if the swelling continues.
