Where do I go next.. wait, keep him on meds. and see if there is improvement, Sad and confused, Lorraine

Answer
Lorraine,
You have no way of knowing that there is any brain damage without having an EEC run on this dog. Seizures don't typically cause any brain damage- it just happens to be a short circuit in the wiring of the brain. The meds will make him sleepy until you get the dosage adjusted correctly for him with your vet's help.

Dogs live to a ripe old age with this disease and it is all too common in dogs. You must keep him on his medication according to what ever your vet told you to do. Some dogs have very few seizures, some have a lot of them.

Don't give up on his so fast and just keep a close eye on what triggers the seizures.
Sometimes too much excitement will do it, sometimes too much protein.

Make sure he is a on a high quality puppy food such as Science Diet Small Bites Puppy Growth to make sure that he is getting the proper amount of nutrients without a bunch of dyes and junk. Keep him off of the treats and people food.

He could even outgrow these. Just follow what your vet says and he should be fine.
