Question
8 y.o. female cat got laryngitis 2 weeks ago. appetite better, coat and weight ok-still has no voice and seems more and more blind.recd short course of prednisone and ampicillin just prior to illness[for asthma]. is vision permanent loss always? thanks.  Martha.

Answer
I am not sure why you think your cat is blind? Did the vet tell you she was?
Sometimes they might be having some issues with their vision from other problems.

Sometimes kidney problems can cause blood pressure problems which can then lead to vision problems.

You need to ask your vet to check her retinas and her overall vision, and her kidney function also.

If he can, he should check her blood pressure too.
Some blindness is temporary, but that is rare.
