my dog is vomiting

my dog is vomiting and I was wondering if I could give him Mylanta or pepto until I can take him to the vet.

Answer
You can give either one of those. Be careful however, if the dog is vomiting blood as Pepto Bismol has Salicylic Acid in it which is like aspirin and make the bleeding worse.

Keep him off all food but make sure he gets water down him. Force it if you have to.
Has he eaten something weird? Is he young and does he have any diarrhea?
