Question
Hi, Ms. Connell.

I read your reply from the other day re lymphangiectasia. I just wanted to share with you that I have an American cocker spaniel (Champ) who was diagnosed with lymphangiectasia by biopsy in September 2007. He was very ill (liquid diarrhea, multiple daily vomiting, severe weight loss, lethargy), and my vet and I were planning euthanasia, but before doing that I kept an already scheduled appointment on October 22, 2007, with Dr. Stan Marks at UC Davis in California, USA, who did some tests and put Champ on Royal Canin Digestive Low Fat LF and reduced his meds (currently prednisolone, azathioprine, famotidine, and occasional shots of vitamin B). Champ's symptoms cleared up within a few days! amazing! :-) and for most of the time since then he's been to all appearances a completely healthy dog. We're starting to lose some ground, but that's expected, and we're grateful for all the extra high-quality time he has had. Mainly I wanted to share with you the kind of dog food we've been using since it has worked so well.

Best wishes,
Beverly McGuire

Answer
Thanks for sharing that with me Beverly. I have a few other owners out there with this problem in their dogs, so maybe I can pass this on.

I am sorry that it isn't going to be a permanent fix. I am sure the meds are helping also. The food gave his system a break.
Thanks for sharing.
