chipped tooth

Question
My five year old golden retriever recently chipped the tip off of one of his front canines. Should he be taken to get it filed and checked or is it fine to leave it as is?

One thing to be concerned about is how he chipped it or why it chipped. His teeth could be weak due to a dental problem. Another concern would be if his nerve is exposed. If so he might need a root canal. I would definitly get him to the vet and get it checked out. I hope this helped. Have a great night.
