Question
Good Morning, over the past week my 3 year old German Shepherd has not eaten any food, just small amounts of tuna. Mac (my dog) has also been vomiting yellow bile and white froth, the past 4 times there has also been small amounts of dark blood. I usually feed his dry food with chicken or tuna mixed in with it. The last normal meal he ate was last Sunday 8th February Please can you help. Regards, Sue

Answer
You need to get this dog to the vet as soon as possible. Vomiting bile is a sign of an inflamed pancreas, or some liver dysfunction. Both of these problems can be very serious and fatal.

Tuna is only going to make this worse. Please call the vet and get him in to see one tomorrow. There is nothing that can be done for him online.

Sue,
I am so sorry to hear this. We just lost my late Mom's guide dog to the same kind of cancer last weekend. Apparently German Shepards and Golden Retrievers are prone to this type of cancer. Trea, my Mom's guide dog, was a mix of GT and yellow Lab.

It is a terrible cancer that gives you no warning signs or symptoms until they are too sick and it's too late.

My heart goes out to you and Mac. The thing that is important is that he doesn't suffer anymore and you are doing the best thing for him. It is a gift of love to end the pain.

I am still in shock about our beloved Trea, who was a very healthy dog. She had just turned 8 yrs old.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
