Minture Rat Terrier with very sore chest

How can you tell if a dog has a broke rib. Or what be wrong with her, she yelp when you pick her up, and she cant lay down, she yelps.

Answer
You can't tell. You need to have a vet feel her chest and take an xray. I have seen dogs ram sticks into their sides that were hard to feel but could be seen on xrays. They run into them in the bushes and they slide under the skin.

So you never know what is going on unless the vet takes a look.
