my dog is acting weird. she is all of a sudden wanting to cuddle and is very concerned about one of her toys she used to have no interest in. she picks up the toy very gently and goes around the house whimpering until someone lays with her. what is wrong

Is this dog spayed? If not, did she just come out of heat? Sounds like a false pregnancy but there is no way to be sure without her having an exam by your vet.

Some dogs are whiny and cuddly when they hurt themselves somehow, such as jumping off of the couch, etc.
That is why she needs to see the vet.
