Question
Hello my question is I have a black lab dog and she going to be 2 yrs old in oct. well my question is my dog for the past week has all of a sudden started throwing up alot and she drools alot. she never did that before but now she does. I have no idea what is wrong with her and I wish I could take her to the vet but sadly to say right now we don't have the money to. so I was hoping if u can help me that maybe theres some home remedies I can do to help her. I feel guilty cause shes a good dog shes our buddy and especially my daughters whose also 2 months older then our dog maggie lol they practically grew up together. I have been keeping her in the basement and I feel so bad but shes just been throwing up allot and drools so bad. she also rubs her ears also. please what can I do for her.

Answer
Jessica,

Vomiting in dogs can mean many many things from fairly benign gastrointestinal viruses to more serious problems such as GI obstruction by a foreign body or even cancer.

I understand the economic crisis most people are in today can make it difficult to afford veterinary care.  BUT just as in humans, there are some medical conditions you can put off and some that potentially may be very serious and need to be addressed.

I would encourage you to seek veterinary care for your pets vomiting if it has not yet resolved.  Many times I have seen what could have been much less expensive therapy get very very expensive and put the dogs life in jeopardy by waiting and not seeking medical attention initially.

I wish I had a better (and cheaper) answer for you.  Good luck to you both.
