Is it normal for a dog to be biting her hind nails?  She is 1 year old and a lab and hound mix.  Thank you in advance.

No it is not normal for any dog to bite their own nails.
Causes for these types of nail biting can be anything from funguses to infection in the nail beds causing soreness.

You need to get her into the vets and have her feet looked at. If you don't she could bite and lick them until she has caused some major damage and infection.
