dysentery in 15yr old female cat

1 week ago she had one of her eyes removed.  There was a tumor on the inside. Pathology results are not back yet. She now has diarhea & vomiting. Her appetite is poor.  The veterinarian gave me samples of food to feed her. She recommended I feed her soft canned food. She does not like it.  What would be easy on her stomach that she might be able to keep down and in?  I would really appreciate your input. I love this cat dearly, but I have already spent $1000 in veterinary costs.  She wasn't this  sick before her eye removal.

Hi Linda,
  It is very important that you get her to eat. It's not good for cats to go days without eating because they can hurt their liver and pancreas and thus causing more problems. At this point if she is not eating what the vet. recommended then I would feed her a bland diet like, boiled chicken breast and plain with rice or you can give her some chicken baby food. They like that and it is bland. And if she turns her nose up at the bland diet mentioned above, then just give her WHATEVER she will eat. We need her to get her strength back up.
