My dogs outside ear scab

Question
I have a 11 month old black lab who has never had any health issues to date. He has recently been neutered and is very active. He has a pimple like scab on the outside of his ear and if he accidentally scratches it, the scab will come off and it will bleed. It's a fair size, not like our pimples about an index finger nail in size just round, and sort of like a bubble. Doesn't seem to irritate my dog just worries me when the cab comes off and it bleeds. I have been cleaning it and putting neosporin on it. It's been on his ear now for a week. Should I been concerned?

Answer
Unfortunately these types of wounds do not heal well without it getting scraped and probably stitched as well. Dog's ears are very vascular and bleed freely when they are cut or wounded.
It could also be a small tumor, not a bad kind, but a type of skin tumor that is localized.

In either case, you really  need to have a vet look at it.
