recently ill pet

My older-14-male Sheltie just had a bout with hemorrahgic gastroenteritis possibly caused by his asprin therapy-he is home now after a week in the hospital-much of the time on intravenous-he is eating well and is back to his old self-quite happy-but he is having urinary accidents which were not a problem prior-is this related to the illness/hosptalization-what can I expect? Thanks

I would recommend having a urine sample checked as it is very likely that he developed a urinary tract infection.   Otherwise, take him outside as often as you can....consider crating him or a Sleepeetime Bed.  And if the problems persist, have blood work checked to make sure there isn't a kidney or liver problem.
