Question
Can my new puppy catch Mycoplasma from my rats who have it, and if it can, can it be treated. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Charly,
I am not that up on rat medicine so I really don't know. What makes you think that your rats have this? Where they diagnosed with it?

And is the puppy in contact with the rat?

Mycoplasma is a name for a number of bacteria that have no wall membranes and thus it makes it very hard for antibiotics to kill them.

So if you know for sure that your rats have this, I would keep your puppy away from them so that he doesn't pick up anything from them.

Better to err on the cautious side.
