Question
hello
I'm a dog groomer and have a boarding kennels it's been 21 years.  I just reacently have a new 9 month old labrador customer that has a VERY VERY hard time to eather come threw a doorway, change from one room to another, change from gravel to green grass ect. I have never experienced something like this, the owner tells me it can take them over an hours to get her in the house, because of the transition from ground to floor.  I've seen this in puppies that, say ,never seen ceramic flooring before but they dont keep on doing it. well hear is the question, could it have something to do with her ears, like a vertigo or something , and if you would have any ideas of what to do?.
wating for your reply.
thanks for your time
Sue Gallant
p.s. there is no ear infection

Answer
It would have nothing to do with the ears.  Probably, the pup has had a bad experience on a different surface and related the surface change to that.  We see this in research dogs that have never been on carpeting.  They cannot understand it and try to get to concrete floors.
