cat is scratching off fur

I have a long hair cat. He had a flea problem, but we have been using Advantage and the problem seems to be OK now. He has been scratching his fur off however and we don't know why. He has several patches that he has scratched or chewed off. Do you know what could be causing it and what we could do to stop it?

Deborah - I can help - Yes, he may be allergic to the past flea bites.
You can find a hot spot spray at your local pet store - The TEA tree oil sprays are great.
