Canine Acne

My dog was diagnosed with canine acne today. She was given 20mg Prednisone and Cephalexin 500mg to treat it.  I've given her the medicine twice today. As prescribed.  Now she is bouncing off the walls. She won't calm down or anything. Is that a side affect of either medication.

That could be the effect of the steroid.  Acne can be treated with a topical medication like mupirocin or cleocin if your vet thinks it is bacterial.  It could also be caused from mites like demodex, or fungi, like Malassezia.  In addition, if you have them, taking the plastic food bowls away seems to help.
