My cat drinking water

Okay i will admit she is a brat. But her new problem really has me worried.  She will not drink water that is not out of the comode or the sink. even if i just changed it.  I rarely leave the comode lid up, and i can't always be here to turn on the water for her, so i got one of those filter running water units that has a pump in it.  She just sniffs it and walks off.  She will lick the faucet to try to get drops of water (or to make me feel sorry for her).  With the new unit i have held off for 36 hours but i have not seen her use it.  She still goes to the sink.. I am really worried she isn't getting enough water.  I am not sure what to do.  The other cat like the new water machine.  Mabel (the brat) has IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and ulcers.  I spent nearly 1200.00 back in december when she had a really bad attack (vomiting, dehydrated).  So i worry about her alot.  PLEASE HELP

a lil water history

6/97 When i got her - 12/03 her water was in a plain plastic bowl they would go though a bowl about every 2-3 days.

12/03 i got one of those auto water things, 2 liter bottle upside down into a bowl so that they would not run out.  She hated it, i guess cause the water got old.

5/04 i got the mechanical pump/filter running water machine... she hates it

you seem to have the same problem as i do with my cat Tom, he will only drink out of the faucet or bottled water,  I usually leave the sink faucet on just a little so he can get up there whenever he wants to get some nice fresh water and it seems to work fine
