Frequent Vomiting - Cat

Question
My cat (6yrs old) was diagnosed with Inflamatory Bowel Disease a few years back.  To regulate her (and keep the vomiting and diarreah under control) she has been on Flagil ever since.  We give her 1/2 tab every other day - if she has a bad spell, then 1/2 tab every day until she gets better.  We also have had to adjust her diet a few times to find food that agrees with her.  She eats only dry food.  She has been on Science Diet Sensitive Stomach and I mix in Nature's (something) kitten food, which is all natural.  I found that the kitten food worked better for her being more easily digested, but it has made her gain weight.

We recently moved to a new house at the beginning of March.  She had been doing very well...out of our 3 animals (another dog & cat) she was the only one who had problems adjusting at first, but her stool remained solid, she ate well, and she had no problems keeping the food down.

Two weeks ago we had berber carpet installed (the floors were all wood).  The day after the carpet was laid, I came home to find vomit.  Since then she has vomited every day or ever other day.  It is either food, clear or yellow liquid, or a brown pastey substance.  She usually throws up 3 or 4 times right in a row and then is done.

I'm wondering if she could be allergic to the carpet?  I don't know what to do anymore.  Even if I with-hold food for 24 hrs to let her system clear out, she still has problems when she starts eating again.  Do you have any suggestions?

Thank You!

Answer
I would recommend getting REGLAN (metoclopramide) from your veterinarian to help with the vomiting.  When introducing food, try meat baby food first.  If she holds that down, you can slowly reintroduce her regular diet.  Normally I recommend novel source proteins for cats with IBD such as Venison and Rice or Rabbit and Rice by Nature's Recipe.
