constipation in toy poodle

My 1 1/2 year old poodle seems to be constipated and struggling to poo.  The only food she has ever been on is Purina Beneful.  I was planning on switching food and in my research came across several sites recommending making our own dog food.  Do you have any advice?

Apologies for the delayed response.  Before changing her entire diet you can add easily obtainable supplements when she appears constipated.  You can add 1 teaspoon of bran to her food twice a day or 1/2 teaspoon of Metamucil to her food twice a day.  This should hopefully help with her problem.
