deerhound lurcher

a friend of mine has just bought a deerhound lurcher.  it is four years old.
everytime that it is taken for a walk and let it off its lead it heads straight for the nearest piece of grass.  after eating the grass the dog promptly vomits.
is this normal behavior?
should my friend be concerned?

Some dogs really enjoy the taste of grass, but unfortunately it doesn't agree with the stomach as the barbs on the grass causing stomach irritation and subsequent vomiting.  If the dog is having vomiting other times, diarrhea or lack of appetite, then I would be concerned.
