blisters on Pitbull paws

Question
Greetings Susan,
My friend has a female Pitbull who is about 2 1/2 years old. For the past couple of months she has been getting blisters in between of her toes and at the bottom of her paw. My friend has tried to help her by changing her diet and also by sanitizing the blisters. He has also tried allergy medicine but the blisters come and go and therefore she can't walk long distance, especially on dirt. I hope you can help us.
Thank you very much

Answer
Wow, that's a new one. Was she vaccinated in the last 6 months? The vaccines may have precipitated the problem. I would not recommend vaccinating this girl.

A couple of things you might want to consider trying; 1)go to a local health food store and get a bottle of at least 30% H2O2 (the nutritional form of Hydrogen Peroxide) and give her 2 drops diluted in distilled water at least 2 times a day. This will oxygenate the blood stream and kill of any undesirable bacteria, etc.  It actually can heal about as effectively as a hyper-baric chamber, and costs pennies a day.

You may wish to contact Dr. Gerald Wessner, my favorite holistic vet, about a homeopathic solution. His number is 352-245-2025. He does telephone consultation, and is very talented. It may seem unbelievable, but if he asks you to send a Polaroid picture of the left side of your dog, do it. He can actually treat the picture and clear up the problem...don't ask, just do it, it works, I've experienced it.

I would also suggest that your friend get his dog on a raw food diet, either entirely, or 50/50 in combination with a grain free dry food. Canidae has a wonderful Grain Free Salmon food that I would highly recommend for a young pit. Also, it is extremely important to not feed her anything but the food, including no chewable heartworm medicine like Comfortis (I recommend Homeopathic Nosodes), no internal toxic flea prevention or spot on the back stuff.  Nothing at all toxic inside or out, and no wheat, corn, soy, dairy or beef what so ever.

That's about it. Let me know how things turn out and what he did if it was effective so that I can relay it to others in the future.

Thanks,
Sue
