Question
Hi, i have a 45 gallon tank. And i would like to set up a FOWLR. can you give me some ideal ratio in regard to how many pounds of live sand and live rocks i should buy? also, is my compact lights enough? im using 2 white 65 watts and 2 blue 55 watts. thanks and more power!

Answer
the ratio of liverock to gals is roughly 1Kg of live rock to 2 gals of water. you will need at least 20-25Kg for your FOWLER.

with your sand i would have about 2" of sand, your lighting sounds more that enough for a FOWLR tank and if you decide to keep some soft corals too, it will be fine.
