Question
QUESTION: I have a long slender fish in my salt water tank that I have no idea what it is.  I hides all day in the rocks, is about 2 inches long, white with dark brown spots, small face with fins close to the face, and a small tail fin.
Do you have any idea of what it could possibly be?  I have looked all over the Internet and have not had any luck.  I could not get a picture of it to post so hopefully you can point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Heather

ANSWER: Hi Heather,
Wow thats a difficult one... it could be numerous marine fish. I think if you look at different kinds of Gobies or Blennies you may find him though, judging by the description you give. Where did you get him? If where you got the fish doesnt know or you cant find any of the many Gobies or Blennies that look like yours, try and get me a picture. Thats the only way I can be 100% positive for you. Wish I could be more help. Let me know if you can snag a photo.

QUESTION: I was able to get a pic while I cleaned the tank.  It is from above so not a good shot of its face.  Hopefully this will be enough to give you an idea of what it could be.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Heather,
Well I still cant be 100% sure from the photo, it looks to be longer than 2 inches? It looks like it could be of the genus Lumpenus(snake blenny or eel blenny), there are several species that make there way into the aquarium trade. But sorry, just not a clear enough photo to be sure. What were you told when you got him?
