Question

Pic of live rock
Can someone please tell me what this is

Answer
Hi Leann,

In the provided image, to the sharp right, of the rock on the right hand side, it appears to be either Red Coralline Algae, and/or Red Cyan Bacteria. Both are harmless.

To the left of the rock that is on the right hand side, it appears to be a colony of Purple Mushroom Anemone Coral (Actinodiscus sp.); which are very nice indeed.

I hope this helps out some.

P.S. Often times when you purchase high grade quality live rock, and as time progresses, other forms of marine life will start to appear from the live rock.

I wish you luck in all your saltwater aquarium endeavors.

Best Regards,
Dave
