Small Brittle Stars

Question
I have thousands of small brittle stars all over my aquarium and they seem to be trying to eat my clams. They are on the underside of the clams trying to get inside and the clams look good when I get them but are dying. How do I get rid of these small brittle stars? I've heard a six-line wrasse or Harlequin Shrimp but am afraid they won't eat them. What should I do please?

Answer
Tom,

Yes, you could try a six line wrasse, copper-band butterfly fish, or a harlequin shrimp, but there is no guarantee that they will eat them; however chances are, one of the above mentioned would...

You could set a small pest trap, and try to trap most of them for removal.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Regards,
Dave
