Question
We are setting up a 300 gallon reef aquarium and I am just wondering if it is possible to keep a Cortez sting ray in there. It would be the last thing introduce in tank for sure. If not the Cortez any other type that would do better in a reef system?
Thanks, Brandon

Answer
the cortez stingray is one of the easiest stingrays to care for in captivity. but that in NO way means it will be an easy feat. they get very large but your tank is big enough, heck it may even be big enough for a pair. but they are very active during the day so a sensitive reef would not be a good tank. they also need a ton of open sand area so very limited rockwork, also not hospitable to a reef tank. also make sure all the tankmates will leave it completely alone as they stress very easily. your also gonna need some massive filtration because they leave behind a ton of waste. best of luck!
