QuestionI was given a tang from an lfs a few days ago, but i cannot identify it. Many people have said it looks like a vampire tang, yet i cant find much information about them. He is currently 4 inches long, so still a juvenile. Do you have any info on this vampire fish and pics if possible ?
Many thanks in advance.

Answer
Vampire Tang (Lieutenant Tang)
Acanthurus tennenti
i dont think i can send pics on this site, but the vampire tang/lieutenant tang is a very pale whitey blue, black rings around the eyes and it has 2 black strips on the shoulder.
also what kind of info are you looking for on these tangs? they just need ALOT of swiming space 150uk gals+ when he becomes adult and they eat the usual tang stuff, namely algae from rockwork or a lettuce clip. shout back if there are any specific questions you have about the fish.
