Question
hi, I have a doubt about sharks.Do sharks live in fresh water?.How do they control salt in their body.
Do they urinate salt like us or get rid of salt through skin?.People eat shark fins at our place. How do i convince them that its cartilage.

Answer
Anil,
Marine sharks will only live in freshwater for a very short period of time, like less than 20 minutes.  Marine animals do not have to remove salt from their body as they absorb and use it.

Some people eat cheeseburgers while other's prefer a salad.  They do these things because they enjoy it.  I see no reason to make them stop.

If you are looking for nutritional information on the animal you're looking in the wrong place.  I'd suggest a nutritionalist or someone in the health/medical section of this forum.

Best of luck!
