Reef Tanks
Hi, I have a 55 gl bowfront and a 45 gl reef tanks running on a 30 gl sump. Tanks have been set up for 4 years. I had started to get hairy algae and tried different products until came across the NO3:PO4-X Biological Nitrate and Phosphate Reducer. This is the only product that have worked great. Algae is dying and Im having to change all filter and micro media daily due to all dead algae.Due to the amount of  dying hairy algae on the Bowfront aquarium I moved all corals to the 45 gl until everything clear up. Also I have the skimmer running faster and I am monitoring daily NO2, NO3, KH, PH, CA (wish is a little low)everything else is been excellent.Im also adding 2 drops of MicroBacter 7 dueto the amount of water changes and to improve my water quality due to all dying algae. A  Now, the water had started to turn cloudy before I started the Micro Bacter 7. What can be going on that the water is turning cloudy?
Sincerely,
Leslie

Answer
the good thing about algae is it warns you when something is wrong with your tank. it could be high nitrate, nitrite ammonia phosphate. or anything, this is why i discourage the use of the products that just get rid of it.
as for the cloudy water there are some products that can help reduce that or you may just have too much flow and its disturbing the sandbed.

you have a beautiful tank and i hope this helps.
