Question
How many and what kinds of fish can be place in a 60 gal, saltwater aquarium

Answer
Hi Steve. Your question is a little vague but I will give you the general rule. In a regular fish only saltwater tank You will want to keep approximately 1 inch of fish per three gallons. In a reef tank it would be 1 inch of fish per 5-7 gallons(even less). Always take into account that if you have a deep sand bed and/or live rock in your tank some of the water gets displaced and you will have even less water in your tank. As for what kinds, that is up to you! You should stay away from most of your larger species of fish like sharks and moray eels but other than that most saltwater fish would be fine in a tank that size. Just follow the basic carrying capacity rule and you should be fine!
