Chalk Goby

Question
Hi, yesterday I bought a chalk goby, it was filtering sand very well in the display tank and was very lively, after acclimatising it and putting it in my tank, it went down to the bottom of the tank and made a sand mountain in front of some rock and hid in a cave behind it, you can just see its head and it hasn't been out since. Is this normal?

Answer
Hi Sam,
Yes, this is normal. It can take a few days to a few weeks for them to get comfortable in a new home. He might even take to only coming out at night for a bit, but as long as you keep water quality stable and dont introduce anyone else til he's adjusted, it will pass and he'll be out and about in your sand bed.
