sand turning black

I have a 20 gallon salt water tank, and the sand is turning black? will a goby fish clean that up? or what should i do?

Can you please tell me more about your tank.??  What type of filtrations and type of powerheads and lighting...

Also let me know what you use for fresh water top off, (for evaporation), and how often you do water changes?

and yea, a diamond, (orange spot) goby will help stir the sand up to prevent algae from forming, but whatever is causeing hte algae will still exist..
