Question
hi i have  a 350L aquarium a fluval 403 external biological filter with a giant uv filter attached and obviously a skimmer. the salanity is perfect and nitrate levels are standing at about 0.05 . i have had the puffer fish about 3 months now he and a cowfish were first in my tank , i also have a long spine sea urchin a lion fish and a wrasse, i notice that the wrasse had kept trying to bite my puffer, i saw he nipped of a piece of his skin i sat and constantly watched them to see if he'd be ok , turns out it was a little spine hanging of his skin the wrasse fancied apart from that and all was peaceful. i was worried and wanted to get rid of the wrasse but couldn't catch it so i left it and just kept my eye on things. today i noticed my my puffers left eye has stopped moving and is not blue anymore. can i find a way of healing him ? and was this the wrasse?

Answer
Well, Im not sure to what lengths you are prepared to go, but, if you could sepeerate the puffer into a hospital tank and treat him with some antibiotics, you might be able to save his eye.

I would also make sure yo uare feeding him healthy foods, vegatbles, vitamins and nori/seaweed.

these will help him build up his natural immunity and prepare him to fend off whatever might be affecting him

btw:  seperating a fish will be difficutl and also stressful, which will lower his immunity, so this could be a one way move...

Be careful

good luck and please keep me posted

also, if you want to check out my new forum, at www.thelittleocean.com  I have a few other experts that maybe able to offer some more / other information on puffers compatiblity..

hope to see you there
