I have a very old blue tang and he is quite large but not looking well lately. How long do you think an average life span is for a tang in captivity?

Hi Tamara. The blue tangs life span is from 5-10 years. If you have had him for an amount of time that falls somewhere in between these two numbers then he is probably coming to the end of his years. Despite the fact that this is a sad thing I say kudos to you for being such a good fish parent!
