dying fish and green algae

Question
I have an eight month old 45 gallon tall salt water aquarium with an Emperor 400 Filtration system and 50 lbs of live rock.  My water levels and conditions are well within the normal range.  Phosphates are a 0, nitrates are at 10, and the temp is 78 approximately.  I have, one at a time, added several fish over the last eight months only to have them die after about four weeks.  I have red algae growth on the rocks but a lot of green algae on the glass and rocks.  The light is on a timer, maintaining light only during the daytime.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions as to what might be the problem.  I have consulted several different "experts" and they all have a different answer.  I have had a saltwater tank at my home for several years and it has worked well.  The only difference is this tank is at my office.

Answer
THE WATER AND LIGHT WOULD BE THE ONLY DIFFERENCES I COULD THINK OF RIGHT OFF. i WOULD CLEAN THE ROCK WITH A VEGGIE BRUSH. KEEP A SPRAY BOTTLE WITH TANK WATER AND KEEP THE ROCK WET AS YOU CLEAN. ADD ABOUT 30 TURBO SNAILS. GET A LAWNMOWER BLENNIE AND A SEA SLUG. TRY RAISING THE LIGHT SEVERAL INCHES IF YOU CAN. THAT KEPT THE ALGAE IN MY TANK AT A SLOWER GROWTH RATE. MANUAL CLEANING WORKS THE BEST.
