Salt Water Stain on Brick Floor

25 9:30:31

Question
I have tried scrubbing, letting wet towels soak for an hour then rubbing, but the salt comes back in a few days. My wife is about to neuter me if I dont get it cleaned up.
Someone said to use muriatic acid, but I know I will destroy the surrounding walls if I try that stuff.

Any tips will be appreciated.
I will consume an adult beverage and await your reply.

Answer
Hi Kyle,

Because every brick home flooring application is different, including if the brick flooring has a clear coating on it, and is very porous, it would be hard to pinpoint how to exactly remove the salt stain.

However, you may want to try using an enzymatic cleaner for concrete, bricks or cement floors: ***(Try a small area of the stain first, to test this method of treatment)***

Firstly find an enzymatic cleaner intended for the particular surface. Then you would proceed to saturate the area with the enzymatic cleaner. Typically most applications involve covering the stained area with plastic to retain moisture, then let the area dry naturally for several days.
Repeat treatment if necessary.

I suggest this method because possibly the live enzymes would digest the salt, and not the bricks surface, thus lifting and removing the salt stain from the brick.

It's just one suggestion, proceed with caution...

If you do decide to try this method, email me back at customercare@ocreef.com and let me know if it worked.

Regards,
David
