lighting a reef tank

hi i'm new to saltwater and could do with some advise on lighting. i have a 55 gallon tank and a luminaire hood with 2 marine white and 2 marine blue lamps. i want to run a reef tank how long do i light it and do i keep both lights or turn some off at different times? thanks

reef tanks require pristine water conditions and special lighting, replicating the sun on that particular type of coral at the depth it flourishes. Reef tanks are tricky, do your research about the type of corals you want to keep and you will find the type of parameters you will need to adhere to.
