Question
QUESTION: I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHICH OF THESE LARGE SALTWATER ANGELFISH IS HARDIER THE QUEEN OR THE BLUE RING ANGELFISH AND WHICH ONE MIGHT GET ALONG WITH A MACULOSUS ANGEL IF ADDED TO AN AQUARIUM AT THE SAME TIME.

ANSWER: Hello Alaica. It is not recommended to keep either of these two angelfish(the blue ring or the queen angelfish) with any other angelfish in the same tank. Keeping either of these two angelfish in the same tank or with any other angel will cause the two to become aggressive with one another and fight and most likely one of them will not survive. Tank size does not matter in this case(unless your tank is a few thousand gallons) and I can not recommend keeping one of these with the maculosus angel. All angelfish are very susceptible to parasitic infections as well as viral and bacterial infections. Keeping more than one in any tank under 500 gallons will lead to fighting leaving one or both of them stressed out and with a lowered immune system. This will almost always guarantee an infection of some sort popping out in an otherwise seemingly healthy fish. These fish are not bred in a tank. They are collected straight from the ocean and it is our responsibility to make sure they get the best care possible. Putting two fish that get as large as these fish do in an any aquarium besides a large public aquarium is cruel and not the right thing to do. These fish will never see their natural home again once collected. Most of them die during shipping before they even reach your tank. They deserve out utmost respect and the best chances at survival that we can give them!

QUESTION: O.K. IF YOU HAD TO BUY ONLY ONE OF THEM WHICH DO YOU FEEL IS THE HARDIER OF THE TWO THE BLUE RING ANGELFISH OR THE QUEEN ANGELFISH

Answer
Okay I would say that it is pretty much a tie here. Both of them are at the same hardiness level. I do believe that the queen angelfish is slightly more disease resistant and a little less picky about food. In my opinion that would make the queen angel a little easier to keep.
