QuestionI NOW HAVE A 120 GALLON TANK WITH CICHLIDS AND I WOULD LIKE TO CONVERT MY TANK TO A SALT WATER TANK. I'M USING AN EHEIM 2250 CANISTER PUMP AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT WILL WORK FOR A SALT WATER TANK. AND WHAT OTHER STUFF WILL I NEED TO RUN MY SALT WATER TANK THE RIGHT WAY. THANK YOU
AnswerHello Heath,
(all caps is like yelling, in 'internet' lingo, btw)
you can convert your tank with little problems. mostly cleaning. I would start off with some bleach and water, about 1 quart of bleach and gallons of water. swish it around, and scrub as best as you can, then fill it up to the top and let it soak overnight.
next day, drain it and repeat with vinegar and watr, maybe 1 gallon of vinegar and a 20 gallons of water, and swish and clean, and fill and soak
then rinse well with regualr water.
the cannister is ok,
You can read up on starting a saltwater aquarium all over but here is a link to
