feeding crabs and snails

Question
I just added 2 snails 2 blue legged crabs had alot of algae.Do I need to feed tham anything else ?

Hi Bill. The snails should be fine however the hermit crabs are not strictly herbivores and should have a supply of meaty marine food as well as algae in their diet. These hermit crabs will often attack and kill snails to steal their shells so make sure you provide them with plenty of empty shells to change into. They will also nip at small polyps and other small animals in your tank when food to scavenge on is sparse.
