Question
Hello gerry! i just set up my first saltwater tank and i am planning on getting clownfish. Dont worry though, i already know plenty about the salinity and live rock, plus i have an outstanding lighting and waterflow system! i just got a bulb anemone shipped today and i am very excited! after hours of acclimation the anemone went in. At first there was a bubble formed on the outer edge of the base. As it clung to the rock it started floating upward because the air bubble seemed to be pulling it. Of course i HAD to stick my hand in and poke it to see if it would go away and it popped! what was up with that???  now the anemone is half on a rock and it seems to be hiding in a hole that i formed with the rocks. Is this normal behavior the first time? thanks for your time and help

Answer
Yes, anemones are reactive. They don't always display in full bloom. They do like to feel secured to their surroundings. They do move quite a bit and you will see him exposed sometimes more than others. The popped bubble could have been an air pocket from shipping. Gerry.
