barnacles

i have small white barnacles  in my  3o gal. saltwater tank . i'll scrap all off but they come back .do you know how i can get rid of these? are they bad for the tank? thank you

Hi Corrine,

Your small, white barnacles are not going to hurt anything.  They are common to aquariums and the backs of the aquarium and are not harmful to your system.

You can get rid of them by scraping them off using a credit card, but they will most likely return with time.  

They are a sign that the tank is stabelizing.
