Question
QUESTION: I just bought 72 gallon bowfront tank ,got it essemble by pro,got it done 3 days ago.Tank is very cloudy can you please tell me what to do,carbon is not helpping.Thank u.

ANSWER: A cloudy fish tank can be caused by a number of things. Did the cloudiness just start, or was it there from the beginning?

Sand can cause cloudiness by...
1) ...being dirty and dusty when placed into the tank.
2) ...being fine. Some sand that is very fine grained will cloud up the tank when disturbed.

Another reason could be a bacterial bloom. Bacterial blooms are normal during a cycle of a fish tank. This is the visual representation of all of the heterotropic bacteria growing and multiplying at an enormus rate.

Heterotrophic bacteria are the bacteria, usually living on sand and substrate, that break down wastes and food. These bacteria are beneficial and the bloom is natural.

This should help,

QUESTION: Thanks for your responce. Can u please tell me what to do to make water crystal clear.Salt level is 1.021,NO3 is 0 mg/L,NO2 is 0.5 mg/l,ppm total hardness 250,ppm total alkalinity/buffering capacity is 240,ph is 8.4.I hope i gave u enough information. After my first e mail water is littel better.Looking forward to hear from u soon.thank u.

Answer
Everything looks good parameter wise but you might want to raise the salinity a couple of points depending on your planned inhabitants.

Just some mechanical filtration (filter floss) on the intake to your powerheads should help clear it up if it is sand.

If it is a bacterial bloom, it will clear up by itself within a couple of weeks.
