What is the best filter to use in a saltwater aquarium?

That's really going to depend on the size of the aquarium you buy and the type of tank you want to set up (i.e. fish only versus reef).

Once you have decided on this, please feel free to contact me again and I can make some recommendations.

In the meantime I suggust you pick up a book to help answer some of these questions you have.  One of the better beginner books out there right now is the Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Bob Fenner.  It covers everything from set up to specie selection, feed, diseases, etc.  Additional information on this book can be found via our online catalog at www.aquariumcrazyfish.com
