55 gallon reef tank

Hello Paul,
     I have a 55 gallon reef tank that I have had for several years now.  I have done fairly well, but am far from an expert.  I have a Coralife 50/50 10k daylight/actinic blue How many hours should I have the light on? I currently run it for 9 hours, could I bump it up to 10 without any undesired effects? My second question, With so many different chemicals/ products on the market, what combo would you recommend for my 55 gallon, and what should I use to promote more purple growth?

i see mo reason for 10 hours to be a problem, you could always alter your on and off periods if you wan't more evening vewing.

what kind of chemicals are you after? just something to increase your coraline algae growth? if so try using a pro reef salt and monitor your calcium levels, they should be about 400ppm this will help as coraline is calcerous algae.
