QuestionWe currently bought a niger trigger fish. What other fish can you have in the tank with him. We have him in a 30 gallon tank but plan to upgrade him to a 75 gallon after we find out what other fish we can him and how many would be good. He is just a little guy right now about 2.5 inches.
After we put the trigger in a larger tank then we like to try to breed a small fish in the 30 gallon tank. What would you suggest? What is the easiest type of fish to breed? Where could I find out good information about being successful at breeding them?
Thanks
AnswerHi Crystal: The Niger trigger is a great community fish... it does not usually bother its tank mates unless they are very small and bite sized... it is a natural predator so do not mix anything with it that it can eat... NO CRABS, SHRIMP, or other invertebrates.... As for breeding... I would try a pair of clown fish... If you can find them in a "Pair" then you will have better chances of success in breeding fish. There are a lot of resources and information on the web about breeding fish... just check that the source is an actual authority in his/her subject. dave
