bug on my fire fish

hi i recently bought a royale gramma and 2 purple fire fish from the internet and noticed that they got some sort of bugs on them u cant c them from the side but when u look from the head down 2 the spine i can c little lumps looks like a slime but i have seen them move the fire fish are still out but i cant find the royal gramma do u no what i can treat the tank with 2 get rid of them i also have corals in my tank so it needs 2 be reef safe thanks

hi mate, firstly i would contact the place you got them from and ask for a refund. i think without a possitive ID on the parasite i would risk a fresh water dip to kill it off.

what you need is a small container with fresh RO water at the same temp and PH as the tank water, net the fish and then dip in the fresh water for 10-15 seconds while in the net.

this will stress the fish out but most treatments for parasites are copper based and will not be good for your corals.
