Question
hi..pls advice,i just setup my salt water tank...and i making my first water change. but i seem can't get the correct salt reading from hydrometer, one minute it showing 1016 and i retest it show 1030...pls help

Answer
Hi LAI,

When testing salinity with a hydrometer, directly after a water change, typically there will be fluctuations, due to the temperature change of the water.

Give the water a chance to stabilize to it's normally running temperature, then re-check your salinity with your hydrometer. This will yield a more accurate reading.

Dave
